Vegan Wines

Vegan wines are wines that are produced without the use of animal-derived ingredients or fining agents during the winemaking process. Traditional winemaking often involves the use of animal products such as gelatin, egg whites, isinglass (fish bladder), or casein (milk protein) to clarify and stabilize the wine. In contrast, vegan wines utilize alternative fining agents that are plant-based or synthetic, ensuring that the final product is suitable for those following a vegan lifestyle. Vegan wines are made from grapes and may still undergo fermentation and aging processes typical of wine production, but the key distinguishing factor is the absence of animal products at any stage of the process. As a result, vegan wines cater to consumers who avoid animal byproducts for dietary, ethical, or environmental reasons.
